Long-ailing district hospital in Sector 30 of Noida will be seen in its new avatar by March 2009By Riti, Section Health
There is some good healthy news in store for the citizens of Noida and Greater Noida. Come March 2009 and the long-ailing district hospital located in Sector 30 of Noida will be seen in its new avatar. Acting on the Uttar Pradesh (UP) chief minister's instructions, Noida Authority (NA) has left no stone unturned in the renovation and up-gradation of the district hospital in Sector 30 of Noida.
The UP supremo's directions are to establish two state of the art multi-specialty Dr. Ambedkar Hospitals at Noida and Greater Noida. As per sources, an expenditure of Rs.150 crore will be made for establishing the multi-specialty Dr. Ambedkar Hospital at Greater Noida. On the other hand, an amount of Rs.378 crore has been invested into turning the Noida 100-bed hospital into a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital. The renovation work is being carried out by the NA to whom its management was handed over in February this year. The hospital is coming up in two wings. The first wing, with facilities for 100-beds would be thrown open to public by March 2009. This one will come up in the place of the existing hospital.
The second wing would come up in the place where the offices and the residences of the doctors exist. This would be turned into a six-storey building with facilities for 200-beds. Apart from this there would be a 19-storey nurse's hostel and an eight-storey hostel for attendants with a international-class food court facility. There would be separate apartment complexes for the junior and senior doctors as also the management staff.
Besides the improved infrastructure, the hospital is being upgraded into a multi-specialty hospital that would offer world-class treatment facilities. Apart from the routine healthcare it would have advanced facilities for plastic surgery, and surgeries in fields of gynecology, urology, neurology and much more. It would also have a trauma centre and offer services in public health management. It also entails setting up of a blood bank in the hospital premises so that patients do not have to run to private blood banks or to Ghaziabad for procuring the precious life-saving liquid. Soon the process of appointment of doctors and surgeons for the hospital will also take place. There will be a core group of senior doctors who will be permanent employees while the rest of the doctors would be on contract basis. Source:Noida Plus August22nd,2008.
